Antler Lodge

It’s school holiday time at the moment. Summer has turned to autumn, and our IMG_2168IMG_2173past times have changed from frequenting the beach, to fires and card games with the kids.  We decide to book a weekend up in the native bush an hour from Wellington to Larry ‘s lodge “Antler Lodge”

As a little boy Larry planted the pine trees that, as a 40 year old, he milled to build his lodge. Talk about talented.  Here in Antler lodge there are a lot of….. antlers!!!!!!

They hang from the ceiling, hold candles, are cooking utensils and create a safety fence around the mezzanine where there is a double bed. Animal heads hang from IMG_2156IMG_2178the wall and other collectables are everywhere.  I love how being in the lodge makes me feel like I know Larry.  His personality and what he likes is visible throughout the lodge.
