Coat Hooks

I’m a practical person.  I love to be organised and most things in my house have it’s place.  Saying that, I love the hunt,  love collecting and love to find quirky accessories to jazz up the house.

Coat hooks are a terrific thing to collect.  Practical- actually a necessity, and ensures your entrance isn’t a carbon copy of your neighbours.

The plan with our entrance way was to make sure lots of little coats, jackets and boots could be safely stored, drip dry if necessary and most importantly look funky. Collecting a variety of types of hooks and then spray painting them in two bold colours and black made sure they would pop!

Inside to match the yellow door, I painted the hooks with a tip of yellow in a descending order. It is a work in progress as I’m still in the hunt for two more rows of coat hooks for inside the house.  But that’s the fun and I’m in no rush.

What I like about this collection is that it’s basically free, some of the coat hooks were so out of shape, I had to take a hammer to them to get it back to shape to resemble a coat hook.  With a lick of paint, they become good as new.  Proving, you don’t need a lot of cash to become a collector.
